Flowers by Leslie was opened by Leslie Clough in 1966, and through excellent customer service and providing quality flowers, his shop developed a large customer base throughout Portsmouth and the New Hampshire Seacoast area. Over five decades later, Flowers by Leslie is owned and operated by Jayne Densmore. She carries on Leslie's reputation for excellent customer service while providing whimsical, trendy, traditional, and elegant flower designs using only the very best quality flowers from local farms.
Jayne has been passionate about flowers since she was a child. In 1991, she entered the Floriculture program at Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute, and ever since graduation, she has been working in the floral business in all sorts of roles. She eventually worked her way up to floral designer, flower shop manager, and in 2019, flower shop owner.
Jayne is committed to continuing the tradition of providing the Portsmouth community and beyond with beautiful, long-lasting arrangements for any occasion. The experience, knowledge, and passion for flowers that drove her to open her own shop also drive her to create the best floral experience possible for her customers.
Excited by the local revitalization and growing young urban vibe of Portsmouth's West End, Flowers by Leslie has grown under Jayne's leadership over the last few years. In addition to physically expanding the retail space, Flowers by Leslie established a second location 25 miles away in Rochester, NH. While serving both locations and the area in between, Flowers by Leslie can now accommodate large-scale weddings and events, private in-store events, and design classes in hopes of inspiring and spreading the joy of working with flowers.
